Sometimes, hospitals lack of medical staff. Therefore, they hire people from different places. That's when you apply for the job. You work independently, so no need for a long term contract.
Being a traveling medical expert is not an easy thing to do. But, it is a well-paid and demanded a job. Medical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is the second most demanding job in the United States. I know, that because I studied it at Sacramento State University in California.
There are certain characteristics you need to adopt or acquire when it comes to being a world traveler medical experts.

You might be working for a long period of time. During the workdays, it is possible you may not have the energy or time to wanderlust. You might need to stay after the contract finish or go on the weekend. Make sure to save many and plan it beforehand.

The contract may last up to 1 month and more depending on the contract, so you need to sacrifice being away from home for that period.
Flexible in terms of schedule and life style Should be flexible schedule, benefits and life style. Should be an avid learner and must thrive on challenges on the field.
You need to be able to learn fast new techniques and skills. You might also need to learn how to adapt and adjust for new challenges.

to be a world traveler medical expert, you need to have a relevant medical degree or a certification with a record in the medical field.
You need to be fluent in different languages depends on their requirements
